Welcome to the Animal Care and Wellness Institute Instructor Training and Orientation Program.
This comprehensive online course is designed to prepare first responders and human medical professionals to become certified animal emergency instructors. The program provides the knowledge, structure, and expectations required to successfully teach certification courses.
Animal Care and Wellness Institute (ACWI) serves as the learning platform for all training and course delivery. Pet Emergency Academy LLC remains the legal business entity, certification authority, and continuing education provider for all programs.
This training is fully asynchronous, meaning there are no live or scheduled components. You may log in and out at any time and complete the coursework at your own pace.
Course Duration and Access
The training program is approximately 4–6 hours in length and includes one program or course curriculum training.
If you would like to teach additional courses, each additional program requires an extra 2–3 hour training module.
You have 30 days from the date of enrollment to complete this orientation program.
Once you complete the course:

You will have 7 days to download and print your certificate

After 7 days, your access to the training program will expire
If you require additional time, you must request an extension prior to your expiration date.
Curriculum Training Requirement
In addition to completing this orientation, you are required to review and complete the certification course(s) you intend to teach.
Within Module 2, you will be provided access to each course and its materials. You must complete the course as if you were a participant. This ensures you fully understand the curriculum, structure, and expectations before teaching students.
You are only required to complete the courses you plan to teach. You may return at any time in the future to complete additional course trainings if you choose to expand your offerings.

Equipment Requirements
Training centers are required to have the appropriate equipment and supplies to teach these programs.
An Educator Supply Kit is available for purchase and includes essential training tools such as:

Canine and feline mannequins

Stuffed animal models
-
First aid kits
-
Instructional support materials
If your organization already owns equivalent equipment, you may submit proof of ownership for approval. A full list of required supplies is provided within this training program.
Course Progress and Grading
This course is structured and must be completed in order.

Each lesson must be completed before progressing to the next

Progress is tracked automatically, with completion checkmarks visible in your course dashboard

Multiple quizzes and a final exam are included
Requirements:

A score of 100 percent is required to pass each quiz and the final exam

You are allowed up to 5 attempts per quiz and exam
You must successfully complete all modules before gaining access to the final exam.
Completion Policy
Participants who do not successfully complete the program will be removed from the training program. You may reapply after 90 days; however, re-enrollment is not guaranteed.
If you anticipate needing additional time, you must contact us before your course access expires to request an extension.
Instructor Use Policy
Only certified instructors who are actively teaching with Animal Care and Wellness Institute are authorized to use any of our materials, including:

Branding, logos, and intellectual property
Pet Emergency Academy LLC retains full ownership of all training materials and certification programs.
Any individual who does not complete the training and is found using or teaching this material without authorization will be subject to legal action.
This orientation is the foundation of your role as an instructor. Please proceed through each module carefully and ensure you fully understand both the material and your responsibilities before teaching your students.
