Artificial Intelligence (AI) Use & Educational Content Policy
Our Commitment to Innovation and Educational Excellence
At the Animal Care and Wellness Institute, we are committed to providing high-quality, accessible, and engaging educational experiences. As technology continues to advance, we embrace innovative tools that help us improve how information is developed, illustrated, and presented to our students.
Artificial intelligence (AI) is one of the many technologies we incorporate into the development of our educational resources.
How We Use Artificial Intelligence
We may utilize AI-assisted technology in the creation and enhancement of educational materials, including but not limited to:
Educational illustrations, diagrams, and visual representations
Charts, graphs, and infographics
Training presentations and instructional resources
Course manuals, eBooks, and supplemental learning materials
Content formatting, organization, and visual design
These tools allow us to create engaging visual resources that help explain complex concepts, demonstrate techniques, and support different learning styles.
Professional Oversight and Educational Accuracy
Artificial intelligence is a tool, not our instructor or subject-matter authority.
Our educational programs are developed and maintained under human oversight, drawing upon established veterinary emergency care principles, recognized educational resources, and the knowledge and experience of qualified professionals.
AI-generated or AI-assisted materials are subject to our internal review processes before being incorporated into instructional content.
We recognize that AI technology is not infallible. As with any educational publishing tool, its outputs must be evaluated for accuracy, relevance, and suitability.
AI-generated illustrations may also be conceptual or simplified representations intended to support learning rather than exact anatomical or clinical depictions. Students should always follow the written instructions, practical demonstrations, and established procedures presented in their training.
Our Position on the Use of AI
We believe that responsible use of emerging technology is an important part of modern education.
The use of AI in educational content does not inherently diminish its quality, credibility, or instructional value. The value of educational material is determined by its accuracy, effectiveness, professional oversight, and ability to support learning—not solely by the tools used to create it.
Just as educational institutions have adopted digital textbooks, computer-generated illustrations, virtual learning environments, and multimedia presentations, we view AI-assisted content creation as another advancement in educational technology.
We will continue incorporating AI technology into our educational resources whenever we believe it can improve clarity, accessibility, engagement, or the overall learning experience.
Transparency and Continuous Improvement
We recognize that individuals may have different opinions regarding artificial intelligence in education, and we respect those perspectives.
We welcome constructive feedback regarding the accuracy, clarity, and educational effectiveness of our materials. Any specific concerns regarding instructional content will be evaluated and addressed as appropriate.
However, the use of AI-assisted technology itself is an intentional part of our educational development process and is not considered a deficiency in our training programs.
Our Educational Commitment
Regardless of the technology used to create our materials, our priorities remain unchanged:
Accurate information. Responsible instruction. Quality education. Better preparedness for animal emergencies.
Pet Emergency Education and the Animal Care and Wellness Institute remain committed to combining professional knowledge, established emergency care practices, and modern educational technology to deliver effective, accessible animal emergency training.
We reserve the right to use AI-assisted and other digital content creation technologies in the development, revision, and presentation of our educational materials.
